SUMMARY:Armchair Art Tour\, sponsored by RappU
DESCRIPTION:Suzanne Schiffman\n\n$10\, for 5 weeks\n\n\n\nVisit the great art museums of the world without leaving Rappahannock. This series of lectures will show iconic works of Western art using slides of paintings\, sculptures and architecture\, some well-known\, others less so. You'll learn about color\, style\, themes and trends as we sweep through the ages. Symbols and stories behind many of the works as well as information about the artists' lives will be discussed. You'll find yourself at the conclusion with a solid grasp of how art has evolved through history\, a new appreciation for what art has meant for people through time and a fresh understanding of its importance in our own lives.\n\n\n\nSuzanne Schiffman was a docent at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. for 15 years. She has been lucky enough to have traveled the world and visited most of the world's great museums. She has written one novel and is working on a second.
