Shenandoah National Park's Centennial Event: live music with Ed Willet, John Muir, and University Wilderness.
As part of the National Junior Ranger Day events and to celebrate Earth Day and John Muir’s birthday, this special Centennial music event features Ed Willet, Cheryl Leah, and Thomas Clyde Mitchell performing original “nature forged” chamber music for voice, cello, violin, and percussion, inspired by the writings of John Muir. With Muir's own words providing the unifying thread, this transformative production embraces the long standing tradition of bringing the inspiration of the natural world to the concert hall. “Chance” describes their musical landscape as “a place where contemporary, classical, and Celtic music beautifully collide, bringing a drink of pure 19th century water to a 21st century, thirsty for nature’s inspiration”.
