“Stories of the Valley” is this year’s theme for the annual Deyerle Program Series on Local History, to be held at 7 PM on Thursday evenings throughout the month of October at MRL’s Central Library in downtown Harrisonburg. The Deyerle Program Series features local historians, scholars and area experts who explore a broad range of subjects surrounding the history of the central Shenandoah Valley.
“Clothes Talk: Lend Them Your Ears” Clothes speak volumes; they are unassuming repositories of information about us and the world around us. Cracking the code, sleuthing the seams is as exciting as any good mystery book and leads the “reader” to every section of a full library. Joins us for our final program as Pamela Johnson, Professor of Theatre: Costume Design at JMU, discusses and displays local historical clothes and trends including clothing from the Deyerle family.
